The Noodle Ministry was born out of the recognition that many of those who are incarcerated right here in Minot, at the Ward County Detention Center (jail) go hungry each night due to the dining schedule and their financial inability to purchase a snack in the evening.

The dining schedule at Ward County Detention Center is:
Breakfast - 5:00am
 Lunch - 11:00am
Dinner 4:00pm

Recognizing that most of us would have a difficult time going from 4:00pm 5:00am without food, the Noodle Ministry would like to help those deemed indigent be able to enjoy a snack of ramen noodles while others ,who can afford a snack, eat in front of them.
Many snack choices are available to those who can afford them but we have chosen the one we think is the most nutritious and affordable.
According to Carla Clifford of the Ward County Detention Center, approximately 30 prisoners at any given time are indigent. This equates to 900 snacks needed per month for those indigent prisoners.
The typical indigent prisoner has nothing - no money, no dignity, and in most cases they do have a crippling addiction to drugs. Our goal is to let them know that God, their Creator, loves them and that life is worth living without a habit that seeks to destroy them.
